New Sound System Successfully Installed
For positively responding to fund-raising efforts by various church groups led by the Parish Pastoral Council, 'Kadang Dominiko' and the Catechetical Ministry, the badly-needed new sound system has been successfully installed before the start of the much-awaited Simbang Gabi last December.

Several good souls have donated part of their hard-earned money for the new audio system costing Php 1.350 million. There was a true spirit of oneness in the Parish community as people donated to achieve a common cause.

The total donation has reached more than the expected amount to be collected at Php 1,918,389. The remaining amount will be used to purchase new electric fans and the rest will go to the Parish scholarship fund.

Parish Priest Father Jesus Prol, would like to extend his heartfelt and profound gratitude to all donors. He said those who have helped have made the right decision for they became willing instruments in spreading the Word of God.

"It was a dream come true that our Parish was provided with a new sound system that people can now listen clearly the Word of God," Fr. Prol said in a recent gathering of various church groups. "Truly the Lord always provides and His good grace and mercy will always be with them, he said.

Parishioners and churchgoers could have noticed the vast improvement in hearing Masses at the Santuario del Sto. Cristo in terms of clarity and audibility. With the new sound system in place, people attending Holy Masses any time can now listen intently and devoutly to the Word of God.

Pork Barrel Scam: Church Requests Catholics to Pray Extra Rosary
In a pastoral guidance issued on the pork barrel scam, the Church calls on every Catholic faithful to pray an extra rosary from May 31, Feast of the Visitation until August 15, Solemnity of the Assumption, and offer it for the CONVERSION of the culprits in the pork barrel scam.

Archbishop of Lingayen Socrates Villegas likewise enjoins the youth to receive Holy Communion frequently during these days of prayer; offer prayers for the culprits, the witnesses and our government, and overcome evil by the power of good.

The bishop reiterated what Pope Francis wrote: The Church's pastors…. have the right to offer opinions on all that affects people's lives, since the task of evangilation implies and demands the integral promotion of each human being. "let us not stop hoping, praying and being concerned and vigilant over our public officials," Archbishop Villegas said.
